Dulwich, having won the toss and electing to bat, initially encouraged the PPCC bowlers at Burbage Road on Sunday. Bill sending down 5 consec. maidens, while Davy P was taking 2 for 5 at the other end in that period. Although the score of 5 for 2 after 10 overs seemed a good start, your scorer was perturbed to see very few of the oppos changed into their gear. Their faith in their no 4 batsman (J.Mahey) was justified as he scored 115 not out with a 3rd wkt stand of 113 together with the surviving opener who was eventually given out LBW to Al Russell while apparently walking down to shake Alan's hand. He had scored 25 in 110 minutes. J,Norton bowled a tightspell and Bill on return, and Al Russell made further in-roads. Paul Thomo was unlucky to find Mr Mahey in good form. The rest of the Dulwich batsmen were not too much of a proposition, none of the rest making double figures. They eventually ended on 170-5 at tea.

The promoted Dave Robotham went for an early quack, caught behind and the PP Inning's most exciting partnership saw Kenny and Fletch hit 39 for the 2nd wkt before Kenny was caught at short cover for 22, Fletch going for the same score at 62. Simon hit a studious 18 before the cheap dismissals of Bru (2) and Thomo (0) put the innings under scrutiny. After telling Timus to 'bat sensibly for the draw' (1 run in 37 minutes), skipper Norton played a frolicsome innings of 20 before being bowled. Al Russell and Timus took the innings to safety, ending on 103- 7.
