Prospect Park let a win slip through their hands after limiting Wilmington to a modest total, their batsmen failing to take advantage and slumping to a second successive league defeat, this time by 54 runs.
Craig Partridge got Park off to another great start with two early wickets again to reduce Wilmington to 25 for 2. Paul Moss at the other end was positively miserly and hardly gave a run away. The home side sensibly then put the blockers on and the proceedings became a bit of a grind as Harward & Hurst dug in. Bill Partridge broke the partnership, bowling Harward, and Skip Fowdy removed Hurst, to have the oppo on 68 for 4. Bill sensationally then bowled Mahabhir and Oakey and all of a sudden Wilmington were tottering on 71 for 6. The home side rescued things with the Rampersad brothers, getting past the hundred mark before the returning Craig trapped Rishi LBW. When Bill repeated the trick on kelvin, Wilmington had recovered to 134 for 8. A quick piece of thinking from keeper Roger Griffiths saw Singh stumped while standing out of his crease and the homw side finished on 151 for 9.

The Park batsmen could not seem to cope with the 'variations on slow' pitch and once opener Dave Hearn was caught out for 14 and Park at 20 for 1, a similar tale of batting woe as last week unfolded. Tim Gannon caught for 3, Park 24 for 2. Si Ewin bowled for 9, Park 41 for 3. Christian O'Mahoney appeared to be back in form but then mysteriously was caught for 19 to leave Park on 49 for 4. Roger Griffiths provided brief hope before being caught behind for 21, Park 71 for 5. Kenny Robotham fell for a duck to leave Park on 72 for 7. A clearly dis-spirited Skipper Fowdy was then caught for 1, Park 72 for 8. Bill Partridge was caught for 3, Park 81 for 9. An entertaining flurry from Dave Fletcher and Paul Moss saw 97 on the board before Mossy was caught for a spritely 10, leaving Fletch 10 not out and Park all out.
Again little to shout about today, all the good work being done by Parks three prime bowlers. Paul Moss gave absolutely nothing away and put a lot of pressure on the batsmen, the rewards of which, Bill and Craig Partridge reaped with 4 wickets each. These three share the MOM today to make this a Team Bowling award. The less said about the batting the better !
