Park Batting Shambles Once Again

vs Eltham (A - Friendly) - Sunday 4th July

Another poor display from the batsmen saw Park slip to defeat at Bexley Grammar School.

Paul Moss and Sean Pritchard opened up the Park bowling but only Sean could make any breakthrough when he bowled Fisher for 15. The change partnership of Alan Russell and Skipper Craig Partridge fared similarly until Al had Wellman caught by Carl Chamberlain. Carl kept up the good work when it was his turn to bowl having Horne caught by Roger Griffiths and Wouldham caught by Dave Brupbacher but he could not stop Eltham from posting a score of 183 for 4.

Dave Fletcher and Dave Brupbacher performed the opening honours but Park were off to a bad start when Fletch was bowled for a duck, Park 0 for 1. When Carl Chamberlain was bowled for 2 a short while later things were looking bad at 9 for 2. Bru and Sean Pritchard added 20 runs before Dave was caught out for 13. When Christian O'Mahoney joined Sean at the crease an excellent partnership of 61 was put together before Christian was caught for a fine 37. Sean soon followed for an equally impressive 33 runs, and Park were 95 for 5. Roger Griffiths was caught out for 5 with the score at 111 for 6 and the skids were on. Three wickets fell at 123, Craig Partridge caught for 19, Alan Russell caught for 6 and Paul Moss bowled for a golden. When Terry Shannon was caught for a duck, Park had succumbed to defeat at 126 all out in the 35th over with Sammy Moss unbeaten on 2.

Man Of The Match

Good bowling from Carl Chamberlain and Al Russell, and a decent knock from Christian O'Mahoney but a fine all round performance from an all too rare appearance sees Sean Pritchard net todays MOM.
