Griffiths Too Good for Highways

vs Highways CC (H - League) - Saturday 4th June

A new opening partnership of Bob Harbert and Dave Brupbacher started the show for park but Bru was caught for 5 to leave Park on 25 for 1. Christian O'Mahoney added another 19 with Bob before being caught for 11 (Park 44 for 2). Roger Griffiths joined Bob and pushed the total to 73 before Bob was caught for a fine 28. Darran Fowdy joined Roger at the crease and between them they batted Highways out of the match compiling a stand of 191 as Roger hit a magnificent century and the skip a super half ton. Roger eventually tired of hitting boundarys and was caught for 132 (Park 265 for 4) leaving a bemused Tim Gannon to go in for the 5 remaining balls. Gannon scampered to the non-striking end to watch the skip finish the innings off with an unbeaten 67 as Park hit 270 for 4, with Gannon 0 not out.

The two Craigs, Partridge & Brooke-Smith opened the show and once Brookey had Price caught by Bill Partridge (38 for 1) the wickets started to tumble. Sandhu LBW Craig Partridge (39 for 2), Raja bowled Partridge (40 for 3), Dave bowled CBS (40 for 4), Joshi bowled Partridge (48 for 5). Simon Ewin made a welcome return to bowl Morris (103 for 6). Man Of The Match

A good team performance today with runs coming from Bob, Roger and the Skip aligned with a good bowling display from Bill and the two Craigs. However the MOM must go to Roger Griffiths for a glorious ton that put the game well beyond the reach of the away side.
